Their story
Mike Buechi grew up visiting his grandparents' farm in northeast Switzerland and spent about 20 years as a chef in fine hotels in Switzerland and the United States. Thai cooking came into his life through his then-girlfriend, who was from Thailand.
In 2008 he started bottling his own curry pastes after noticing that most Thai products in American grocery stores were not organic, vegan or traceable. He funded the company with his Swiss retirement savings, and today he runs it with his wife, Laurie Sebestyen.
How it's made
Buechi tracked down certified organic farmers in Thailand and visits them and his Thai production partners about twice a year. Every product is USDA Organic, and the coconut cream, red and green curry sauces and food service pastes are also Demeter certified biodynamic.
