Milkadamia

Macadamia milk from a family farm on Australia's east coast.

Byron Bay, New South Wales

Their story

Milkadamia comes from Jindilli Farms, a family-owned macadamia operation in the Byron Bay region of eastern Australia. The family were growers first, turning their nuts into things like chocolate-covered macadamias and macadamia oil before they ever made a carton of milk.

After about a year of testing the milk in cafes in 2015, they launched a shelf-stable version in 2016 and a refrigerated line followed in 2018. The US business is based in Burr Ridge, Illinois, and the drinks are now found in thousands of American stores. Later additions include a coffee latte, a milk tea, and an organic version with a short ingredient list.

How it's made

The macadamias are grown on the family's own farms using regenerative methods focused on soil health and minimal intervention. The trees are not irrigated and rely on rainfall alone. The company avoids palm oil because of its link to tropical forest loss.

Our free-range trees get water falling from the sky only, not pumped from the earth or taken from rivers.

Why we carry them

We like that this one comes straight from the people who grow the nuts. It is creamy and mild, and a good pick for coffee or cereal if you skip dairy.
