Their story

Moku was founded by Matt Feldman, who grew up on Oahu and launched the company from Honolulu in 2020. He spent a year in his home kitchen developing the recipe with plant-based chef Thomas Bowman.

The jerky debuted in three flavors: Original, Hawaiian Teriyaki, and Sweet and Spicy. Early backers included founders of Thrive Market, Casper, and Mendocino Farms.

How it's made

Moku starts with king oyster mushrooms and seasons them with coconut aminos, chickpea miso, and maple syrup. The result is a minimally processed, plant-based jerky with fiber and a chewy, savory bite.

Why we carry them

Moku has a meaty chew that surprises people who expect a mushroom snack to be soft. We like it for hikes and lunch boxes.
