Their story
Mommenpop is the work of Napa winemaker Samantha Sheehan, who started the brand in 2017. She wanted to capture local flavor in an aperitif, and found early on that American drinkers needed some help understanding the category.
Her answer was to make the whole line about citrus. The core flavors are blood orange, ruby red grapefruit, and Seville orange, each meant for spritzes or simple mixed drinks.
How it's made
Mommenpop uses Chardonnay as its base, which keeps sugar lower than many spirit-based aperitifs. It is made with organic grapes, citrus, and botanicals, bottled at 17 percent alcohol, and contains no dyes.
It was really about the idea of preserving local flavor
Why we carry them
A local favorite for spritz season. We like it over ice with soda and an orange wheel, no recipe needed.
