Their story
Mooala was founded in 2012 by Jeff Richards and is based in Dallas, Texas. Richards has a nut allergy, so when he set out to make a plant-based milk he started with bananas instead of almonds.
The resulting bananamilk became the brand's signature. Mooala later added oat and other milks, plant-based creamers, shelf-stable cartons, and a keto-friendly milk.
How it's made
The original bananamilk is made from bananas, sunflower seed butter, cinnamon, and sea salt. Richards worked with the University of Minnesota to develop a cooking and batching process that would scale.
