Their story
Mount Riley is a family winery in Marlborough, at the top of New Zealand's South Island. Founder John Buchanan spent much of his childhood on his grandparents' farm in the region, and his mother grew up on a farm there too.
Buchanan started Mount Riley in 1992 after working for several other wine companies. It is still a family affair: his daughter Amy is general manager and his son-in-law Matt is chief winemaker.
How it's made
The wines come from the family's own Marlborough vineyards, which the whole family knows closely. Winemaking is led by Matt, and the range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Bonnie Rosé, a blend of Pinot Noir, Merlot and Pinot Gris.

Why we carry them
Mount Riley is a reliable pick when you want crisp Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc without paying a premium. It's a good one to keep in the fridge.
