Murchison Hume

Plant-based household cleaners that look and smell good enough to leave out.

Founded by
Max Kater

Their story

Murchison-Hume was started in the early 2000s by Max Kater, a former fashion and beauty editor and a mother. The cleaners under her sink were harsh, unpleasant and bothered her baby's allergies, so she decided to make something better.

She worked with a natural products lab in Australia to build the line, which now also operates in the United States.

How it's made

The products are plant-based and designed to work well while smelling and looking nice on the counter. The brand favors refillable glass bottles and lower-waste packaging.

Why we carry them

Murchison-Hume makes cleaning supplies you won't want to hide in a cupboard. A thoughtful gift for a new home, too.
