Olive Truck

California olive oil pressed by a mobile mill that drives to the grove.

Founded by
Sam Bayraktar

Their story

Olive Truck is the idea of Sam Bayraktar, who grew up in Turkey and noticed that olives often had to travel a long way from grove to mill, losing freshness along the way.

His answer was to put the mill on wheels. After proving the idea in Turkey, he brought a mobile mill to California, where it travels from farm to farm to press many different olive varieties.

How it's made

Instead of hauling fruit to a mill, Olive Truck brings modern milling equipment to the orchard, so olives are pressed right after harvest. The truck works with growers across California to make a range of extra virgin olive oils, including a Tuscan-style blend.

Why we carry them

We like the simple logic behind Olive Truck: the less time between tree and press, the fresher the oil. It is a California oil worth keeping by the stove and on the table.
