Their story

Omsom was founded by Vietnamese-American sisters Vanessa and Kim Pham, who grew up in a suburb south of Boston. Kim has said food became her first way of exploring her identity, and the name Omsom means rowdy in Vietnamese.

The sisters launched Omsom in 2020 with a simple goal: give home cooks a better way to make Asian dishes than a single generic jar of sauce. They developed their first starters with chefs including Jimmy Ly of Madame Vo, Nicole Ponseca of Jeepney, and Chat and Ohm Suansilphong of Fish Cheeks, who share in the sales.

How it's made

Each starter packs the sauce, spices and aromatics for a specific dish, so a full meal comes together in about 30 minutes. They contain no preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup and are shelf stable for up to a year.

Why we carry them

We like Omsom for weeknights when we want real flavor without a long shopping list. Each kit points straight at a specific dish and the chefs behind it.
