Their story
Paradigm Winery belongs to Ren and Marilyn Harris, a couple with deep roots in Napa Valley. Their estate sits on Dwyer Road in Oakville, just south of the Oakville grade.
The Harrises bought the property in 1976 and spent years selling their grapes to other wineries. In 1991 they released their first Paradigm vintage, made by Heidi Peterson Barrett, who stayed on as winemaker through 2024. Much of the fruit still goes to well-known Oakville neighbors.
How it's made
All the wines come from about 48 acres of estate vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Cabernet Franc. The reds are blends, and the Cabernet and Merlot age about 20 months in French oak, with the Cabernet resting further in bottle before release. A Merlot rose is fermented slowly and cold.
Why we carry them
We like Paradigm as a chance to drink Oakville fruit from a single family vineyard. It's classic Napa Cabernet made with restraint.
