Their story
Perennial Artisan Ales was founded by Phil and Emily Wymore in the South Carondelet neighborhood of St. Louis. Phil runs the brewing and Emily led sales and marketing in the early days.
Phil started as an assistant brewer in Columbia, Missouri, then spent several years at Goose Island in Chicago and led brewing at Half Acre before coming home to Missouri in 2010. The brewery opened on Michigan Avenue in 2011 with a tasting room and beer garden.
How it's made
Perennial works in small batches, often with Belgian yeast strains. Early flagships included a dry-hopped Belgian ale and a golden ale, alongside farmhouse beers and seasonal fruit beers. A cellar program focuses on barrel-aged, wild-fermented and sour beers.
Why we carry them
We look to Perennial when we want a beer with depth to share at the table. Their barrel-aged releases are worth opening slowly.
