Their story
Spinagallo is the top organic lemon juice from Polenghi, an Italian lemon juice company based in San Rocco al Porto in Lombardy that has been on the market since 1976. Polenghi is known for its small glass Caraffina bottle and now processes hundreds of millions of lemons a year.
The Spinagallo lemons come from a single estate run by Fratelli Mazzara near Syracuse, in southeastern Sicily, home of the Femminello lemon. The groves run from the coast inland, and the partnership was set up as a certified organic supply chain for these lemons.
How it's made
The lemons are organic and picked by hand at the Spinagallo estate. They are pressed with a traditional method that works like a home citrus juicer, giving lower yields but a purer juice, then lightly pasteurized and bottled.
From them we obtain a pure, cold-pressed juice
Why we carry them
We keep Spinagallo around for days when fresh lemons are not on hand. It is bright enough for dressings, fish and cocktails.
