Their story

Pop Daddy is the family snack company of Mark Sarafa, who learned retail stocking shelves in his father's store in Michigan before spending years at Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay and Absopure Water. At home his family went through bags of popcorn almost every night, until worries about microwave popcorn led them to buy a bigger popper and start making their own.

That basement project became Mark's full-time job in 2013. Pop Daddy Snacks has since grown from popcorn into seasoned pretzels and kettle chips, sold across the U.S. and abroad, and it is still run by the family.

How it's made

The company started by popping local red kernel corn from Burr Oaks Farm in Ann Arbor in healthier oils. Today the range includes more than a dozen seasoned pretzel varieties, such as garlic Parmesan sticks, alongside popcorn and kettle-cooked chips.

Why we carry them

We like Pop Daddy pretzels for their big, bold seasoning. They are made for game day and a cold beer.
