Their story
Portland Pet Food Company began with a dog named Rosie. Kate McCarron's 14 year old Standard Poodle could no longer eat ordinary pet food, so McCarron started cooking for her, and Rosie went on to live to 16 and a half.
In 2015 McCarron turned those home-cooked meals into a business in Portland, Oregon. She worked with the Oregon Food Innovation Center to develop recipes that follow AAFCO guidelines, and the company still makes its food in Portland.
How it's made
Meals and treats use limited, human-grade ingredients sourced in the Pacific Northwest, with no added supplements. Meal toppers come in shelf-stable pouches, and the biscuits make use of spent grain from local breweries and distilleries.
Our meals and treats reflect our commitment to offer the quality assurance pet parents are looking for
Why we carry them
We like having something for the dog on the shopping list too. The spent grain biscuits are a nice tie back to the local brewers we already carry.
