Their story

Pressed Juicery grew out of a juice cleanse. Hayden Slater did a 30-day cleanse in Thailand in 2008, left his job at HBO the next year, and brought in his childhood friend Carly de Castro along with Hedi Gores.

In 2010 the three opened in a closet-sized space below a yoga studio in a Brentwood, Los Angeles shopping center, making juice at night in a borrowed cupcake shop kitchen. A health department shutdown and later an FDA inspection pushed them to write proper procedures and rebuild how they made juice.

That early scramble set them up to grow into a widely known juice brand.

How it's made

Pressed makes its juices with a cold press. The company moved from a batch process, with separate teams washing, pressing and mixing, to a largely automated continuous line.

Health and wellness can be a bit elitist.

Why we carry them

We keep Pressed in the fridge for an easy grab-and-go green juice. It is a simple way to add some produce to a busy day.
