Their story

Protein Puck started in a Spokane coffee shop. In the summer of 2013 Dave Tawney, who owned the Caffe Capri shops, wanted a better snack for his younger brother Dwayne, who was lifting weights and tired of chalky bars and messy shakes.

Tawney began hand-forming the first pucks and selling them at his shop in Browne's Addition. Word of mouth carried them further, and production soon moved out of the coffee shop kitchen to a local co-packer as the snack went national.

How it's made

Each puck is a baked round of oats, seeds and nuts, held together with peanut or almond butter and sweetened with agave. They are vegan and gluten free, and each one is about twice the size of a typical bar.

We sort of just organically let the product talk for itself

Why we carry them

We like Protein Pucks for a long hike or a busy afternoon. One puck goes a long way.
