Pueblo Viejo
An everyday 100% agave tequila from the Casa San Matias distillery.

- Los Altos, Jalisco
Their story
Pueblo Viejo is a tequila line made at the distillery of Casa San Matias in Jalisco, under NOM 1103. It is the house's more accessible label, sold widely outside Mexico.
The agave comes from the Los Altos highlands, around Ojo de Agua, an area known for growing agave for tequila. The range covers a blanco, a reposado and an anejo.
How it's made
The tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave that is cooked, milled, fermented and double distilled. The reposado rests briefly in oak, and the anejo ages longer.
Why we carry them
We like Pueblo Viejo as a fair-priced, all-agave tequila for mixing. It is a smart bottle to keep around for margaritas.
