Their story
Q Mixers started with Jordan Silbert, a gin and tonic, and a nagging thought: the tonic tasted far worse than the gin it was mixed with. He spent years in Brooklyn testing recipes before landing on the tonic that became the company's first product.
Silbert launched in 2006 by selling bottles to New York bars and restaurants one account at a time. The line has since grown to about a dozen mixers, from tonic and ginger beer to club soda, made for bartenders and home drinkers alike.
How it's made
Q built its tonic around real quinine and a light hand with sugar, so the spirit stays in front. The mixers are made strongly carbonated on purpose, since a fizzier mixer makes a livelier drink.
