Their story

Quiéreme Mucho is a family story. Its agave grows on haciendas about 60 km from Oaxaca City that Rene Paz Muñozcano's great-great-grandfather, Frank Skidmore, acquired after coming from Texas. Rene is the fifth generation on that land.

Rene co-founded the brand with his uncle, Eduardo Muñozcano Skidmore, in 2011, and bottles began rolling out in 2017. The team describes its work as land-to-bottle, built on tradition, environmental care and social impact.

The bottles themselves are part of the story: about 100 local artisans hand-paint them, and a team of women handles bottling in Oaxaca City.

How it's made

Wild agaves from the family haciendas, including slow-growing Tepextate that takes around 25 years to mature, are distilled by roughly 30 master mezcaleros. The mezcal is then bottled by hand in Oaxaca City.

Mezcal has been an ancestral beverage in Mexico.

Why we carry them

We love that every bottle supports a wide circle of Oaxacan artisans and mezcaleros. Try the Cuishe or Tepextate to taste what wild agave brings.
