Their story

R.W. Knudsen started with Russell W. Knudsen pressing Concord grapes from his own garden in Paradise, California, for his family. The juice was good enough that in 1961 he began bottling and selling apple and Concord grape juice.

The brand grew into a natural foods staple, and in 1997 its facility became the first certified organic processing plant in the country. R.W. Knudsen was later owned by J.M. Smucker, which sold it in 2022 to Nexus Capital Management; it now sits under the TruRoots Company.

How it's made

The juices are made without artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or added sugar, with many organic options. The main production facility runs partly on solar power and reuses or recycles most of its waste.

Why we carry them

We keep R.W. Knudsen around for clean, simple juice that works for breakfast or as a cocktail and spritzer base. The single-fruit bottles are especially handy.
