Redemption
Rye-forward American whiskey distilled in Indiana and bottled in Bardstown.
- Founded by
- Dave Schmier, Michael Kanbar
- Based in
- Bardstown, Kentucky
Their story
Redemption began almost by accident. Spirits industry veterans Dave Schmier and Michael Kanbar came across a cache of rye whiskey barrels and decided to bottle it under their own label.
The pair ran the brand through their company, Bardstown Barrel Selections, and grew the line from straight rye into high-rye bourbon, bourbon and limited barrel releases.
In 2015 the brand was acquired by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, the company behind Yellow Tail in the U.S., which has continued to build it nationally.
How it's made
Redemption whiskeys are distilled in Indiana, then bottled in small batches in Bardstown, Kentucky. The range covers straight rye, high-rye bourbon, bourbon and limited barrel selections.

Why we carry them
Redemption Rye is a reliable bottle for a Manhattan or Old Fashioned with real rye spice. A good pick if you want a bar staple that tastes better than its price.
