Their story
Reyka is made in Borgarnes, a small fishing town about 75 km north of Reykjavik. It was launched in 2005 by William Grant & Sons, the family-owned Scotch whisky company, after a family member's trip to Iceland sparked the idea.
The distillery was Iceland's first, and master distiller Thórður Sigurðsson has worked with the brand since it opened. In a town this size, he has also served as the local firefighter and police officer.
How it's made
Reyka is distilled in small batches in a rare Carter-Head still, with the vapor passing through a basket of Icelandic lava rock. It is cut with glacial spring water that runs through a 4,000-year-old lava field, and the distillery runs on geothermal and hydroelectric power.
Why we carry them
Reyka is clean and soft, and we like it for a crisp Martini. The story of how it's made is as good as the vodka.
