Their story
Rhine Hall is a father-daughter distillery run by Charlie and Jenny Solberg in Chicago. Charlie fell for fruit brandy while living near Lake Constance in Europe during his years as a professional hockey player.
Making brandy had long been a family pastime, and in 2013 the Solbergs turned it into a business, opening a distillery and tasting room in the city's West Town industrial corridor.
How it's made
Rhine Hall makes brandy using old-school Austrian methods, starting with apples from southwestern Michigan. The fruit is chopped, fermented and distilled on a German still in the Chicago distillery.
Our featured pick
Cherry Brandy (750ML)
$45.00
For Rhine Hall's Cherry Brandy, they use a tart style of cherry commonly found in Michigan and Wisconsin. The cherries are smaller and less sweet than most of the varietals think of when purchase.

Why we carry them
Rhine Hall makes us rethink brandy. The apple brandy is a fun swap for whiskey in an Old Fashioned.
