Their story
Riff comes from the Lageder family of Magrè, in the southern part of Alto Adige. The family business dates to 1823, when Johann Lageder opened a wine merchant's shop in Bolzano, and it is now run by the sixth generation, Alois Clemens Lageder and his sisters.
The estate is known for biodynamic farming and a focus on biodiversity. Riff, launched in the mid-1990s, was created to bring that care to everyday wines at a friendly price.
How it's made
Riff wines are made with trusted partner growers across northeastern Italy, with the Pinot Grigio drawn from organically farmed vineyards in the Delle Venezie DOC. The Lageder team oversees production at their Löwengang facility in Magrè, fermenting and aging the white on its lees in stainless steel.
Why we carry them
Riff is our go-to for an easy, well-made Italian white. It is the kind of bottle you can open any night without overthinking it.
