Their story
Righteous Road is the work of David Hermelin of St. Louis, who spent more than 20 years in pharmaceutical strategy and branding before turning to spirits. He started the company in 2016 with the goal of sharing Jewish values through what he bottles.
His first release, Righteous Seven, reached New York shelves in 2019. The range has since grown to include The Fifth Cup, a Passover liqueur, plus barrel reserves, a whiskey liqueur called GIBOR and single-barrel bourbons.
How it's made
Righteous Seven blends grains and fruits from the Seven Species named in the Torah, a formula refined with a Kansas City distiller. The Fifth Cup uses a sugar cane spirit with apricots, dates, figs, pistachios and almonds, and barrel reserve versions rest in new oak. Most bottles are certified kosher by the Orthodox Union.
It is meaningful to me to have the opportunity to communicate Jewish ideals and values with each product
Why we carry them
Righteous Road makes a thoughtful holiday gift, especially for Passover or Purim. The Fifth Cup is a fun, fruity sipper on its own.
