Their story
Rosaluna began in 2020 when four friends from the drinks, design, and investment worlds, Nate Brown, Terry Lee, Freddie Martignetti, and Pepe Mireles, decided to make a mezcal of their own. They partnered with a brother and sister in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, whose family has made spirits there for about six generations.
The brand aims to make mezcal approachable for people new to the category. In 2025 it raised Series A funding with a partnership that includes Sacha Lichine and importer Shaw-Ross.
How it's made
The partner family grows, farms, ferments, and distills its own espadín agave in the hills around Matatlán. The joven mezcal is made only from agave and water, with no added color, flavor, or other additives.
we really just loved mezcal so much we made our own
Why we carry them
We like Rosaluna as a friendly first mezcal, with gentle smoke that works neat or in a margarita.
