Their story

Roseisle sits near Elgin in Moray, on the edge of Scotland's Speyside whisky country. Diageo announced it in 2007 and opened it in 2010, and at the time it was called the largest malt distillery built to date.

The distillery was built to supply malt for Diageo's blended Scotch, so its whisky almost never carries the Roseisle name. Its first official single malt arrived through Diageo's Special Releases in 2023, and its malt has also gone into Johnnie Walker blends.

How it's made

Roseisle runs seven wash stills and seven spirit stills, drawing water from a borehole on site, with capacity of about 10 million liters a year. It was designed with sustainability in mind, recycling some byproducts on site, and won Scottish design and sustainability awards in its opening year.

Why we carry them

We think Roseisle is a fun find for Scotch fans, since bottles under its own name are rare. It is a chance to taste the malt that usually disappears into blends.
