Their story
Rye & Sons brings together two old friends from the dining room at Per Se: sommelier and winemaker André Hueston Mack, and Sean Josephs, who founded Pinhook Bourbon and serves as its master blender.
The pair first teamed up on a limited bourbon in 2021, and the next year they launched Rye & Sons as an everyday rye with a sommelier's eye for flavor.
How it's made
Rye & Sons is a blended Kentucky straight rye whiskey, made from straight ryes distilled in Danville and Frankfort. The blend is built for notes of anise, roasted stone fruit, and salted caramel, with hints of baking spice and orange zest.
Why we carry them
We like Rye & Sons as a fairly priced rye that works neat or in a Manhattan. It has more fruit and spice than many bottles at its price.
