Their story
Sandhi is a small winery in the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County, founded in 2010 by sommelier Rajat Parr, then wine director for Michael Mina's restaurants, and winemaker Sashi Moorman.
The two built Sandhi around a clear idea: that ripeness, high alcohol, and heavy oak hide where a wine comes from. They looked for vineyards with character and balance, including Sanford & Benedict, Rinconada, and Patterson, and bottle several of them on their own.
How it's made
Sandhi works only with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced from carefully chosen sites farmed organically. The winemaking aims for finesse, acidity, and structure, picking for freshness and keeping new oak in the background.
Why we carry them
We reach for Sandhi when someone wants California Pinot that tastes bright and savory instead of heavy. It is a great match for salmon or roast chicken.
