Their story
Saro Cider opened in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, in 2018, the first facility in the state devoted only to making hard cider. Co-owners Jonathan Henning and Tracy Sanford run it.
The cidery grew out of Sanford's home experiments, which began when a co-owner could no longer drink beer for dietary reasons. Many of the ciders are named for travel destinations, a nod to the owners' love of travel.
How it's made
The cider is fermented, matured anywhere from a couple of days to two months, then carbonated and kegged. The range covers traditional, botanical, and citrus styles made with less sugar, plus non-alcoholic options, and all of it is gluten-free.
We're wanting to make something that is different,
Why we carry them
We like these ciders for being dry and bright, not sugary. A good pick for beer drinkers looking for something gluten-free.
