Their story
Saucy Mama is the house label of Barhyte Specialty Foods, a family business in Pendleton, Oregon. Jan and Suzie Barhyte started it in 1982, selling mustard made from a family recipe with roots in Germany.
Their son Chris later became CEO and grew the company, while Suzie kept charge of the recipes and another son, Mike, ran the Pendleton plant.
How it's made
Recipes are developed in Suzie Barhyte's test kitchen and produced in Pendleton. The company began with a five-gallon mixer and hand bottling, and today makes mustards, dressings, wing sauces, and marinades.

We like having a family-made mustard on the shelf. Use it on sandwiches, in vinaigrettes, or with sausages.
