Their story

Sesmark got its start in January 1984 as Sesaco Foods, making baked sesame sticks before moving on to fried and honey-roasted versions. A year later it took the Sesmark name and launched Sesame Thins, sold to neighborhood stores and delis in a simple cardboard tray.

New Japanese investors in 1990 led to the brand's first rice-based crackers, and in 1994 came Rice Thins, a thin Japanese-style rice cracker. The brand changed hands in 1998 and has been part of PANOS Brands since 2007.

How it's made

Sesmark uses its own baking process to make crackers that come out thin and crisp, while its multigrain chips are made with a popped baking method. Lines range from sesame rice crackers to an ancient grains cracker made with amaranth, millet, sorghum and quinoa. The company says its snacks contain no trans fats, hydrogenated oils or preservatives.

Why we carry them

We like Sesmark Rice Thins as a light, gluten-free cracker for a cheese board. They are sturdy enough for a good dip too.
