Their story
SkinnyPop was started in 2010 by Andy Friedman and Pam Netzky in Skokie, just outside Chicago. The first bags were made by hand and sold to local Chicago stores.
The popcorn caught on fast. In 2014 the founders sold a majority stake to TA Associates, which formed Amplify Snack Brands, and in 2017 The Hershey Company bought Amplify. SkinnyPop is now part of Hershey's salty snacks business.
How it's made
The original recipe is just popcorn, sunflower oil and salt, popped and bagged ready to eat. Later flavors keep a similarly short ingredient list and are mostly dairy-free.
Why we carry them
SkinnyPop is our easy pick for a light, salty snack. It is simple, crunchy and good for lunchboxes or movie night.
