Their story
Weingut Rosner is a family winery in Langenlois, a wine town in Austria's Kamptal region. Stefan Rosner, the youngest generation, joined his parents Norbert and Renate at the estate in 2014.
The family's story here goes back to 1897, when Theresia and Johann Rosner bought the property. Norbert and Renate took over in 1995 and moved the vineyards to organic farming, with certification in 2010.
How it's made
The vines grow on the loess and clay soils typical of Langenlois, with hot summer days, cool nights, and long autumns. The family farms organically without chemical fertilizers or herbicides and makes the wines in a vaulted cellar, favoring a hands-off approach in fermentation. Grüner Veltliner leads, alongside Riesling, Zweigelt, and several other varieties.
Why we carry them
Rosner's Grüner is the kind of crisp, peppery white we reach for with dinner on a weeknight. It also comes in a liter bottle, which makes it easy to share.
