Their story
Suncliffe is the project of three friends: Ryan Lawrence, who grew up in Flagstaff and studied dance in Tucson; Tom Giddings, a British bar and restaurant veteran first drawn to Arizona by a photography project; and Clare Byrne, a New York fashion stylist raised in rural Australia. On hiking trips around Sedona they began foraging native plants to make their own gin.
The gin launched in New York before settling back home in Tucson, where it is now made. The founders support DigDeep's Navajo Water Project through proceeds from select items.
How it's made
Suncliffe uses three native Arizona junipers, one-seed, shaggy and alligator, along with wild-foraged ponderosa pine bark, manzanita and western elderflower. The botanicals are vapor-infused in custom German-built copper stills, and the gin is bottled without chill filtering.
Why we carry them
Suncliffe tastes like a hike in the high desert, piney and floral. We like it in a simple gin and tonic so the native botanicals come through.
