Their story
Tamellini is the work of brothers Gaetano and Pio Francesco Tamellini, who farm in the Costeggiola zone near the village of San Vittore in Soave. Their family has deep roots here: their grandfather Ettore helped found the local Soave cooperative in 1930.
In 1998 the brothers left the cooperative and began bottling wine under their own name. They now tend about 50 hectares of vines, guided by a philosophy passed down from their father, Luigino, about caring for the land.
How it's made
The vineyards sit on volcanic basalt and limestone, and the brothers farm without herbicides or pesticides, using cover crops and copper and sulfur treatments. Their wines are made from Garganega with gentle fermentations and no oak, keeping the focus on fruit and minerality.
Why we carry them
We think Tamellini shows how good Soave can be when a family grows its own grapes. It is a crisp, mineral white that works with almost anything on the table.
