Their story
Tessier is the label of winemaker Kristie Tacey, a Michigan native who worked as a lab scientist in the East Bay before switching to wine. Her first winery job came in 2006 at Lost Canyon Winery in Oakland, and she started her own label after Lost Canyon was sold in 2009.
In April 2024 she opened her own winery and tasting room on Fourth Street in West Berkeley, sharing a compound with Donkey & Goat, Broc Cellars, and Hammerling. Her blends are named after music, and she treats her growers like family.
How it's made
Kristie sources sustainably farmed fruit from growers in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Arroyo Seco, El Dorado, Mendocino, Lodi, and Sonoma. She ferments with native yeasts, skips fining and filtering, and keeps sulfites low. Back labels list the pick date, sugar at harvest, ingredients, and barrel count.

Why we carry them
Tessier is a winery from our own corner of the Bay Area, and the transparent labels make it easy to know what is in the glass. Look for her lesser-known grapes like gamay, négrette, and grenache blanc.
