Their story
The ImPex Collection is a series of independent bottlings from ImPex Beverages, an importer based just south of us in South San Francisco. Sam Filmus started ImPex in 2008 after years at JVS Imports, and Chris Uhde joined him as a business partner in 2018.
Each edition gathers a set of casks the team has chosen from distilleries across Scotland and beyond. Edition Five, released in 2026, focuses on wine cask influence and includes Scotch from Linkwood, Teaninich, Blair Athol and Isle of Raasay, single malts from England and New Zealand, and a Jamaican rum from Long Pond.
How it's made
ImPex selects finished casks from partner distilleries and bottles them in limited runs under the Collection label. Each edition is built around a theme, so the releases in a set share a common thread, such as wine cask maturation.

Why we carry them
We like supporting a Bay Area neighbor, and these limited casks give whisky fans a chance to taste distilleries that rarely bottle on their own.
