The Lucky Ox

Two friends reimagining the bold Asian flavors they grew up with.

Their story

The Lucky Ox was started by two friends, Kyle and Fane He, who met working in consulting after college. What bonded them was cooking: the Asian dishes they grew up eating at home with their families.

When both moved to Portland to work at Nike, they found a city with a lively food startup scene and decided to build a brand of their own. The company is meant as a tribute to the resilience and stories of their immigrant parents, carried into food made for how people cook today.

How it's made

The Lucky Ox works in what its founders call the modern Asian food space, taking the bold flavors of home cooking and adapting them for everyday kitchens. The recipes start from the dishes the founders learned from their families.

Why we carry them

We like brands that start at the family table, and The Lucky Ox does exactly that. It is an easy way to bring bigger Asian flavors into a weeknight meal.
