Their story
Tre Monti is the Navacchia family winery, set in the Tre Monti hills of Imola in Romagna. Sergio Navacchia and his wife Thea began making wine in 1971 and were known as early experimenters, trying dense plantings and unusual grape varieties for the area.
Their sons Vittorio and David now lead the estate, which has grown to two farms: one near Imola and one in the hills of Forlì. Campo di Mezzo is the estate's Sangiovese di Romagna.
How it's made
The family farms about 50 hectares across its Imola and Forlì estates under organic certification. Sangiovese for Campo di Mezzo grows on clay, sand and pebble soils, and the estate also works with local grapes such as Albana and Trebbiano Romagnolo.
Why we carry them
We like Campo di Mezzo as a weeknight red that tastes clearly of Romagna. It is juicy, easy to pair and fairly priced.
