Their story
Domaine de Triennes sits high in the hills of the Var, east of Aix-en-Provence. In 1989 it was bought by two of Burgundy's best-known winemakers, Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, along with their friend Michel Macaux.
The name comes from Trienna, an ancient festival for Bacchus held every three years, and it also nods to the three partners. Jacques's son Jeremy Seysses now oversees the estate. Sainte Fleur is its Viognier.
How it's made
The vineyards sit at about 250 to 450 meters on clay and limestone, where cool nights help keep the wines fresh. The estate is farmed organically, with cover crops between rows to protect the soil. Sainte Fleur is pure Viognier, fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep its apricot and honeysuckle notes bright.
Why we carry them
We love that this Viognier carries a Burgundian sense of balance at a friendly price. It is a great match for roast chicken or anything with herbs.
