Wine

Vina Almirante

Albariño from four Galician grape-growing families working together.

Their story

Viña Almirante is a shared project of four multigenerational families in the Rías Baixas region of Galicia, on Spain's Atlantic coast. Each family brings its own vineyard parcels and its own crew, and they pool equipment and know-how to make the wines.

The focus is Albariño, the region's signature white grape, with bottlings such as Vanidade and Pionero Mundi.

How it's made

The vineyards sit on granite slopes cooled by Atlantic breezes. Grapes are picked by hand, pressed gently and fermented with a light touch to keep the fruit and minerality front and center.

Why we carry them

We like Viña Almirante for crisp, salty Albariño at a fair price. It is a natural match for shellfish and anything off the grill.
