Their story
VUUM comes from Los Angeles, where two University of Southern California graduates, Matt Forsey and Valentino Sinacola, set out to put protein and energy in the same light, fizzy can. They were not sure at first that a sparkling protein drink could even be made to taste good.
The brand launched in early 2024 in Southern California stores like Erewhon, aimed at people heading to or from a workout. It has since been reformulated and expanded with new flavors.
How it's made
Each can combines pea protein with caffeine from guarana and green tea, plus amino acids like L-theanine and B and D vitamins. It is sweetened with stevia and kept low in calories. Getting the acids, sweeteners and protein to stay stable in a carbonated drink took extensive development.
