Their story
Wilder Condiments is the work of Isabel Freed, a French-trained chef who cooked in Michelin-starred kitchens before settling in Santa Cruz. The idea came to her during a surf session, and she started testing recipes in her backyard.
She saw a gap on the condiment shelf for something both flavorful and made with clean, organic ingredients. Wilder's line now includes a Dijon-style mustard, a sweet and hot mustard, a jalapeño mustard and a horseradish mustard.
How it's made
The mustards are made in small batches with organic ingredients and no additives, artificial flavors or preservatives. Fresh jalapeños and horseradish root come from local farmers market stands, and organic turmeric adds color and warmth. The finished jars are shelf-stable.
Our mustards were hand-crafted under the California sun, quite literally from the ground up, one by one
Why we carry them
We like mustard with real personality, and the horseradish and jalapeño versions bring it. They are great on a sandwich or whisked into a vinaigrette.
