Their story

Willie's Distillery sits in Ennis, a small town in southwest Montana's Madison Valley. Willie and Robin Blazer opened it in 2010. Willie grew up in North Carolina, served as an Army Ranger, and later worked as a wildland firefighter and smokejumper after moving to Montana. Robin grew up on a grain farm in Montana's Crow Creek Valley.

Their lineup includes Montana Moonshine and a honey version, Bighorn Bourbon, a wild chokecherry liqueur and fruit brandies. The Montana Department of Agriculture has recognized the distillery for its use of homegrown ingredients.

How it's made

Montana corn, barley, oats and wheat are steam-cooked in a mash tun and fermented with yeast. The wash is run through a German copper pot still, where the distillers make careful cuts to keep only the heart of each run. Bourbon is aged in oak barrels and blended with an older, mature bourbon.

If someone buys our bottle because it looks good, we want them to re-buy that bottle because of the taste

Why we carry them

We like spirits that taste of a specific place, and these lean hard on Montana grain and fruit. The chokecherry liqueur is something you will not find many other places.
