Their story

Wolves is a California whiskey brand started by two names from fashion and streetwear: James Bond, co-founder of the sneaker shop Undefeated, and designer Jon Buscemi. They brought a designer's eye to the bottle and partnered with California distillers for what went inside.

Their first release, First Run, was a blend distilled and bottled in California's wine country. In 2024 the brand added an American single malt as its flagship.

How it's made

First Run blended whiskeys double distilled from craft beers, a stout aged in French oak and a pilsner aged in new American oak, with a rye for spice, cut with Mendocino County water. The American Single Malt ages five years in California wine barrels, then is finished in cognac casks.

Why we carry them

We like seeing California whiskey take its own path, and the wine-barrel aging here ties it right back to the state. It makes a striking bottle to give.
