Their story

Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile grew up together in Woodinville, Washington, and stayed close friends for decades before deciding to make whiskey in their hometown. They opened the distillery in 2010, early in the Northwest craft distilling wave.

They learned the trade with guidance from Dave Pickerell, the former master distiller at Maker's Mark, and built their whiskeys around Washington grain and patient aging in the dry climate of Central Washington.

In 2017 the company was acquired by Moët Hennessy. Sorensen and Carlile stayed on to lead the business, and the whiskey is still made in Washington.

How it's made

Corn and rye come from the Omlin Family Farm in Quincy, Washington. The grain is milled, cooked with Cascade Mountain water and fermented for about four days, then run through copper pot stills with a short column, keeping only the hearts. The spirit ages at least five years in barrel houses in Central Washington.

We are very proud about what we have accomplished since founding Woodinville Whiskey Company just a few years ago.

Why we carry them

We like Woodinville as proof that the Northwest can make bourbon with real depth, and the single-farm grain gives it a clear sense of place.
