Their story
Yakami Orchard is the label of a family of citrus growers in Miyazaki Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu. Some members of the family are fourth-generation growers.
They focus on the aromatic Japanese citrus that cooks prize, yuzu, sudachi and kabosu, and bottle the juice and other products for kitchens outside Japan.
How it's made
The fruit is processed in small batches to keep quality steady. The family uses whole-fruit methods that capture the fragrance of the peel along with the clean flavor of the juice.
Why we carry them
We reach for Yakami's yuzu juice when fresh yuzu is impossible to find; a few drops brighten dressings, ponzu and cocktails.
