Their story
Batter Bakery is Jennifer Musty's bakery, started in San Francisco in 2008. She began with catering, opened a downtown kiosk, and later ran a cafe on Pine Street in lower Nob Hill that served as the bakery's home for years.
In 2023, after about 15 years in the city, Batter moved its production kitchen to the Berkeley Kitchens building in Berkeley and closed the Pine Street cafe. The downtown kiosk, a stall at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and San Francisco deliveries continued.
The bakery is known for classic American treats with a modern touch, including its Sand Angel cookies, made from a recipe Musty developed in college.
How it's made
Batter uses organic ingredients where it can, including all organic flour. Most of its produce comes straight from local farmers, many of them Ferry Plaza Farmers Market growers, so the menu follows the seasons.

Why we carry them
We love having a Bay Area baker like Batter on our shelves. The Sand Angel cookies are a good place to start.
