Better Boba
Simple, additive-free boba pearls from a Portland husband-and-wife team.

Their story
Better Boba was started by Allison and Parth Sodha, who began with an ice cream shop in Portland where they served boba tea. Wanting pearls without preservatives, they decided to make their own.
The couple traveled to producers across Asia to learn traditional methods, bought a machine from Taiwan, and spent eight months working on the recipe. They say they want everyone in their supply chain, from farmers to manufacturers, to earn a fair wage.
How it's made
The pearls are made from tapioca flour, brown sugar, xanthan gum, and water, with no preservatives or additives. They are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and kosher, and ship in recyclable packaging.
It's about assuring everybody involved has a sustainable wage, from the farmers to the manufacturers.
Why we carry them
We like Better Boba for making bubble tea at home without a trip to the tea shop. Add the pearls to iced milk tea or coffee.
